Kids' Heart: Learn How the Heart Works

Discover how the heart works with a friendly, interactive game for kids. Label the heart, follow the path of a blood cell, and practice heartbeat rhythm — all designed for children and classroom use.

What is the heart?

The heart is a powerful muscle that acts as a pump to move blood throughout your body. About the size of your fist, it works constantly to deliver oxygen and nutrients to all your organs and tissues.

Your heart has four chambers: the right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, and left ventricle. Blood enters the right atrium, moves to the right ventricle, gets pumped to the lungs to pick up oxygen, returns to the left atrium, moves to the left ventricle, and finally gets pumped out to the rest of your body through the aorta.

How this game helps kids learn

This interactive game makes learning about the heart fun and engaging for children ages 6-12. Through hands-on activities, kids will:

  • Identify and label the main parts of the heart
  • Understand the path blood takes through the heart and lungs
  • Recognize the rhythm and importance of a healthy heartbeat

The game is perfect for both classroom use and at-home learning, with parental guidance suggestions and difficulty levels that adapt to different age groups.

How to play

Label Race: Drag the six labels (Right Atrium, Left Atrium, Right Ventricle, Left Ventricle, Aorta, Pulmonary Artery) to the correct spots on the heart diagram. Use the "Show Hint" button if you need help!

Blood Flow Journey: Follow a blood cell as it travels through the heart. At decision points, you'll need to choose the correct path by opening the right valves.

Heartbeat Rhythm: Watch the heart flash in a pattern, then repeat the pattern by clicking the numbered buttons in the correct sequence.

Review Quiz: Test your knowledge with 5 multiple-choice questions about heart anatomy and function.

Complete all games in about 10-15 minutes, or focus on one at a time. Perfect for science lessons or health education!
